그 사람을 가졌는가 - 함석헌

또 시작입니다.

 

매일 똑 같은 해가 졌다가 떠오르는 평범한 일상의 반복이지만,

사람들은 한 해를 마무리하고 또 다른 한 해를 맞는 날을 정해

놓고 열광을 합니다. 그리고 특별한 의미를 부여하곤 합니다.

 

이제 또 한 해를 시작합니다.

이번 한 해는 '일상의 평범함을 귀하게 여기면서 겸손하게 살

아갈 수 있으면 좋겠다'는 극히 소박한 꿈을 꿔 봅니다. 그래서

남들보다 튀지 않고, 또 척하지 않으며, 그저 나에게 주어진 삶

의 길을 진솔하게, 열심히 달려가 보려고 합니다.

늘, 일상의 반복이지만,

오늘 특별히 새해를 시작하면서 스스로에게 새삼 다짐합니다.

만리길 나서는 길

처자를 내맡기며

맘 놓고 갈만한 사람

그 사람을 그대는 가졌는가.

 

온 세상 다 너를 버려

마음이 외로울 때면

"너 뿐이야" 믿어주는

그 사람을 그대는 가졌는가.

 

탔던 배가 가라앉을 때

구명대를 서로 양보하며

"너만은 제발 살아다오" 할

그 사람을 그대는 가졌는가.

 

잊지 못할 이 세상을

놓고 떠나려 할 때

"너 하나 있으니"하며

빙그레 웃고 눈을 감을

그 사람을 그내는 가졌는가.

 

세상의 "예" 보다도

"아니오" 라고 가만히 머리 흔들며

진실로 충언해주는

그 사람을 그대는 가졌는가.
